Chicken Parmigiana | How To Make Chicken Parmigiana?

This finger-licking dish originated in the Italian diaspora. Chicken Parmigiana, the most loving recipe is all about making delicious blended sauce, crispy chicken breast, perfect coating, and putting on shredded cheese on top. The method of preparation is so simple and easy. Here are some ingredients.

Chicken Parmigiana Recipe


  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt, Black pepper(optional)
  • 2 cups- of purpose flour
  • 3-4 Eggs( for coating)
  • Thinly sliced fresh mozzarella
  • French Gruyere Cheese or cheddar cheese
  • Panko bread crumbs(a Japanese style) you can also use any breadcrumbs
  • Pure Olive Oil
  • Tomato sauce(as described in the recipe below)
  • Garlic powder
  • 2-star anise
  • Miso paste
  • soy sauce
  • Basil or parsley leaves(fresh)

1- Chicken Breast preparation:

Chicken breast has a lumpy side and a thin side. First, you need to take the knife and cut it from the center and you will get the heart-shaped flat chicken breast.

Grab a baking paper and cover the chicken with it, take out some mallet-type thing, and pound it gently from thick sides so the chicken fillets flattened evenly.

Sprinkle a lot of salt all over it so that it penetrates into the chicken. Then, rest it for like 20 minutes(important for tenderness and juicy chicken)

2- Tomato Sauce preparation:

Take 2-3 tbs of olive oil and add it to your pan, add in some chopped garlic and stir it for 30 sec. Pour 2 tbs of fresh tomato paste and let the paste cookout on medium flame.

Now add a full can of tomato sauce to it. Make sure to use peeled tomato sauce rather than crushed tomatoes or anything else(the mixture should be less watery). Then add 2 tbs of miso paste(it gives a really big kick to the flavor) some soy sauce and 2 pieces of star anise (game changer ingredient). Keep squishing with your spoon for a few minutes and simmer it for 20 minutes.

3- Coating preparation:

Add a one-to-one ratio of cheese and breadcrumbs to a separate plate or bowl. For enhancing the taste put in 1tbs garlic powder, and 2 pinches of salt, and mix.

For crumbing, set your All-purpose flour, beaten eggs, and bread crumbs separately. Now coat chicken with flour and then with eggs and then with your breadcrumbs flawlessly.

Repeat the same process with the second chicken breast piece. Fry them in hot oil so that they turned out golden and crispy.

4- Assembling:

Grab your chicken schnitzel onto an oven-proof tray. Pick that blended tomato sauce, pour it onto the fried chicken breast, and spread this out.

Then comes the layer of mozzarella and french gruyere cheese(you can also use cheddar cheese as an alternate). Sprinkle some basil on the top and hot grill it for 10 minutes.
